not just during excercise? And if not is there any type of device that can do this?

I pass out if my heart rate reaches 90%. It has something to do with my blood flowing too fast through some body part in the back of my head, but i dont know what it is called. My question is, does anyone know why this happens, or can you direct me to some sources where I can read about it?

The Thing is, fitness is a lot of trouble for people with this condition. If the heart rate can’t reach very high, no fitness will be reached. Any answers will help (besides "no" or "i dont know" answers).

Thanks.

My boyfriend is massively into running, not paticularly long distance (although he does this once a week) but more sprinting and interval training. He loves keeping fit in general and i keep hearing him talk to his friends about heart rate monitor watches! now im completely clueless but would love to buy him a really nice one for his birthday, but i have no idea where to start? What make is best? what should i look out for? I know he wouldn’t like anything too big and bulky as he has really small wrists, please help

Reached above maximum heart rate?

I was riding my bike at the park today, had a polar watch to track my heart rate. I noticed in some point I reached 106% of my maximum heart rate, freaked me out and I slowed down.

How is that possible?
(I have a resting pulse of 75 per minute, and my fitness lvl isnt that high, though im exercising regularly for a few months)
park no or park, I rode pretty fast.

Heart rate???????????????????????

I frequently use a heart rate monitor when working out, and it’s always bothered me that when I’m done working out (like with in the first few minutes) my heart rate will drop pretty fast. Like from 140/150 to like 100/90 in a matter of min. Is this a good thing or a bad thing??

Should I buy a Garmin Forerunner 405?

I am looking to buy a running watch for cross country season. However, I am not sure whether to buy a more heart rate monitor devoted product such as a Polar, or a GPS devoted product such as a Garmin. I love the look of the Forerunner 405 as it does just about everything, although, I have heard that they are unreliable, they have a poor battery life and that they stop working in humid conditions (i live in brisbane). Your help is appreciated.

Have you worked out while you were pregnant and used a heart rate monitor to keep your heart rate at or below 140? If so, what type did you like, how much did it cost? Also, did you use the kind w/ the chest band or no? Does the chestband get harder (or more annoying) to use during pregnancy?
Thank you!

Heart Rate Monitor?

I want to buy a heart rate monitor, but I dont want a polar, so lets forget about them. I pretty much just need one that counts calories, and cost less than 0. And it has to be one that takes your heartbeat the whole time you wear it, not the ones you have to put your fingers on. Anyone know of any?
I was just looking at a sportline, it was a touch hrm, and it said it counts calories burned. Do you have to hold your fingers on it the whole time your working out, or do you just put your fingers on it at the end of your workout and it somehow knows how many calories you burned.
I dont like polar because you have to send it in to get new batteries. Thats ridiculous.

Runner needs help with a Timex heart rate monitor?

I have a 1 year old Timex Ironman heart rate monitor-digital watch combo with chest strap. For the past month or so, my heart rate monitor reading jumps to 240 beat per minute without warning and stays there for the majority of my run. My usual avg. heart rate ranges from 150-180 bpm. I tried changing both batteries but it still does not solve the issue. Can anyone advise if they had this problem, and if so, what was done to fix it? Thanks…

What is the best kind of heart rate monitor?

I want one I can use while in motion & continuous feedback would be great (so I guess it would have to have the chest strap). Calories burned and a stop watch feature would also be good. Other cool features I may be missing? Good value and performance, hopefully less than 0.

I just purchased a watch/monitor to keep track of my calories burned while exercising. I am 5’4 and 220 pounds, female, and 20 yrs old. According to many online calculators and my watch, there are big differences. I just did a high impact aerobics course and my watch was like 250 calories off! How can this watch really know what I am burning if its doesn’t allow me to program my weight/age/height/gender?

Why would my resting heart rate be so high?

I bought a heart monitor to maximize the effectiveness of my workout.I was told to get my resting heart rate in order to figure out my target heart rate during workouts.
My resting heart rate was between 111 and 118 while sleeping.Whilemy watching t.v. or sitting at the computer heart rate is 65-85.Isn’t my resting heart rate supposed to be lower than my up and awake heart rate?
Is there something wrong with me?

True or False?

Will i build muscle and burn fat like this?

Ok so right now im 5"10 in height, weight 180lbs, and 21 years old.

My bodyfat percentage is a little under 12% and im trying to get it too 6-8%.

RIght now here is my weight training/cardio schedule… I jog 6 days a week at a low/moderate pace for 6 miles every day. A personal trainer told me id be burning about 60% fat, 1% protein, and 39% sugar at the pace im going at according to heart rate monitors, that sound like the correct zone?

I also weight train 5-6 times a week doing biceps/back, triceps, and chest/shoulders on different days (also abs/legs twice a week).

My questions are, should i always eat when im hungry? I recently just lost about >10% bodyfat (in the past 6 months) and gained mostly muscle (i lost only like 8 lbs lol) and im trying to become a fitness model now! My abs are finally showing (in the right light) and im really happy (never accomplished this before).

Ive been doing cardio all this time with muscle building but it seems the results are REALLY slow and im doing this 100% naturally, so no creatine/andro invovled, just high protein basically.

I just want to know if this routine will work to burn 4% bodyfat, and cause me to gain about 5-10 lbs of muscle. Its just been so slow the past month now and im not really losing much noticeable bodyfat anymore (ya just when my abs start showing). Any advice on what to do differently?

Any helps appreciated and i know this was a long post so thanks in advance!
