I am almost 19 weeks pregnant and have been using a foetal heart rate monitor to check my baby’s heartbeat. I’ve been picking it up on the right hand side just above my pubic bone.
just wondered at how many weeks does the baby move up to a higher position? and when do they move up to the area above your belly button?
Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to replace the fitness computer on my elliptical trainer. You know the digital display that shows my speed, distance, heart rate, etc? I want a better one. My current one displays each stat individually for about six seconds (unless I tap a button to cycle through the stats), but the display is large enough to show all the stats at once. So I was hoping I could replace mine with one that can do that. Is this possible?
So, I’m starting my new running program on Monday and I want to keep a log of what I’m doing. So, any ideas on what should go in there? My age is 15, btw and I don’t have a heart-rate monitor, nor can I buy one.
Also, I’m going to be running in a park and doing a walk/jog in the afternoons at about 2:30. So, does anybody have an idea of what to wear, or how long I should be out there? I’m thinking about an hour of walk/jog. What do you guys think?
So, just basically any helpful tips you might have. Please and thank you!^___^
And this isn’t for a sport or anything, just for health and weight-loss benefits. Again, thanks!
I am a 18 year old male. SInce I was a kid i would have random pains in my left side of my chest that would only last for a couple minutes. they only happened a couple times a year so i wasn’t that worried about them. I completed army basic training in the summer of 2008 so i would never dream of having heart problems. well here in the last week i have been having these terrible episodes. They always happen when i am sitting. I will feel lightheaded all over my body, i feel like i am going to pass out, my vision starts to go dark. when these episodes start i check my pulse and it is so slow there are 3 and 4 seconds in between beats. i think this is why it causes me to almost pass out. everytime right before i pass out my heart starts beating normal. this has been happening every day, multiple times a day for the past week. i am also experiencing the sharp chest pains. Also, for about 60 perce nt of the day i feel a steady discomfort in my center chest. it doesnt affect my heart rate but it is very uncomfortable. sometimes it causes pain in my jaw, shoulder, and left arm. sometimes my left arm goes numb before the passing out episodes. i have had ekg’s, echocardiogram’s, a holter monitor, and they have all came back normal. this is ruining my life. me and my doctor have ruled out all heart conditions and panic/anxiety so i dont know what to do. can someone (preferably a doctor) please give me some kind of advice?

I’m in my late 20′s normal weight and no major health problems but I have had a fast heart rate at rest (110-130). My doctors just keeping an eye on me but has not ordered any test yet and I agreed because I have no insurance. I bought a device that records my heart rate and oxygen level to keep an eye on it but I’m completely perplexed by what happened today. I’m often tired and I normally drink soda for a caffeine boost so my husband bought a Hardcore Spike energy drink with 350mg of caffeine. I was nervous about what this may do but I drank it anyway, to my shock my heart rate is now in the 70′s for the first time since I’ve started monitoring it in over a year. How could this be???
Quick overview on how to setup a heart rate monitor (strap) to your Garmin GPSMAP 63s or GPSMAP 62 st. You will need a Garmin HR monitor in order for this to work.
First a little background. I’m 57 and about 8 years ago I started sitting at a desk a lot more for my job. I gained a lot of weight so this spring I started riding a bicycle to lose weight and become more fit. So far so good. I feel 10 years younger and lost 36 pounds and rode the bike over 1300 miles. I recently purchased a heart rate monitor and have been trying to use it to push myself a little harder while cycling and jogging. I read that my max safe heart rate is 220 minus my age 57 = 163 beats per min. Now when I push myself to a heart rate of 165 range if I just downshift one gear or start walking, if I had been running, within 10 seconds my heart slows down to 155 and 10 more seconds it drops another 10 bps and after less than 1 minuit it goes back to the 120 range. Does this mean I am fit enough to start pushing harder to the 175 to 185 range?
Then as I get into better shape I will increase the time. I will be riding a stationary bike at my target heart rate (anywhere from 142 bpm and 152 bpm which would be about 70%-75%). Right now I am able to do about 15 minutes.
in lost, Keamy, the bad guy on the boat who kills ben’s daughter
he has a heart rate monitor on his arm
it really bothers me cause i know that its just a modified korg guitar tuner
am i the only one who knows this?
hey, jus a quick update. i jus finished up wk six which was awesome. i’m still getting questions about my heart rate monitor, it’s a Sportline, from Walmart, it cost me like , I love it. Also getting lots of questions about running.
I just started exercising regularly a few weeks ago. Before I would play pick-up games of basketball anywhere from once to five times a week, but around the end of October I made some changes in my eating habits and started walking/running (alternating between laps) on a treadmill, usually 3-4 times a week. This is in addition to basketball.
Physically, I feel fine, I never have any dizziness or anything, if I can’t keep the pace up I slow it down. I just want to know what my heart rate should be around. I’m 6’4" and ~300 pounds. When I run, it’s on 7.5-8, when I walk, it’s at 3.5. My heart rate when running the other day was right around 165, I just want to make sure that’s not overdoing it. I see a lot of conflicting info on the web so I’m hoping someone can either respond with valid information or point me to a reputable source that will take things like age/body type/fitness type into consideration.
I am obese (256 pounds) and also just joined a gym. I am going to meet w/ a trainer and they will tell me how much cardio to do. I can get one of these for , is it worth the investment for someone like me? I plan on going about 4 X a week to the gym ,
Does he like me or not?
So there’s this guy at school who I’m not really that interested in, but he seems like a really nice guy but he acts kinda weird around me… this guy is new, but rumors have been going around that he has a girlfriend from another school, but I don’t think it’s true… so anyways, this guy is in my first class at school and he always smiles and asks for a high five when I walk by. He also did that at homecoming when I was dancing with my friends, which was nice . Lastly, he came up to me today in my first (and only) class with him, and sat next to me, as we were doing a project and were allowed to sit anywhere. We were using heart rate monitors and have to do a project on them in health class, and at the end of the period I had forgotten to put mine away… and he just got up and was like, "Oh, I’ll get that for you!" , which was really sweet. But at the very end of class he went up to this other girl, who he talks to a lot since she sits in front of him, and put his arm on her back. It was kinda awkward, but the girl didn’t seem to even seem to notice it. (She was talking to one of her friends and didn’t even pay attention to him). So what I’m getting at is that this guy is really nice even though I’m not extremely love sick for him, but I wanna get someone’s opinion about whether or not to make an effort to get to know him better or not all comments are appreciated as long as they have to do with my problems Thanksss soooo muchhhh !
Thankss so much for all of the great feedback! <3
I have a blood pressure monitor that I bought from a drug store that I’ve been using to measure and track my BP and heart rate over the last few months. Today I took it at around 2:00PM and the results were 123 over 82 with a heart rate of 84. I then took it two hours later at 4:00PM and the results were 136 over 84 with a heart rate of 98. I then took it again 2 minutes later and the results were 112 over 80 with a heart rate of 92. What would cause the results to be so wildly different so close together. and is it anything to be concerned about? The other possibility I guess is that the blood pressure monitor is faulty, but I don’t know for sure.
this is about serious training for endurance athletes
level four training is perfect for simultaneously monitoring the three variables of heart rate , pace , and perceived exertion. these workouts require you to tune in to the physiological cues that indicate the level of work at the threshould between aerobic and anaerobic effort.
1. Get Resting Heart rate 2. Subtract you age from 220 3. Subtract resting heart rate from #2 above 4. Multiply results of #3 above by .6 (60%) and .8 (80%) 5. Add Resting heart rate to both results of #4. This is your target heart rate range.
I’m a 21-year old male and I bought a GPS/heart rate monitoring watch a few months ago. When I run (usually 5k-10k at a time) my heart rate is rarely less than 185 bpm.
Is that ok? I run fast. I could slow myself down but I get impatient. Are there any health complications I should be aware of? I put in several hours a week at this heart rate.
Thanks for any advice you can give!
I should also add that I often get up to 200 bpm. Occasionally I even hit 210.
My resting heart rate is about 55-65 bpm and my blood pressure is actually a little high (130/70) with NO family history of high blood pressure :S
I’ve decided not to get a polar, b/c I don’t want to have to send it in for battery replacement. I’m torn between a timex and a nike c6. I’m not a runner, so I don’t care about the lap features. Any suggests?
size, so I don’t need to lose weight. My resting heart rate is consistently below 50, so I don’t think I need to worry about the health of my heart. I love to ride my bike do pilates, lift weights, swim, yoga, hike. any suggestions?
I am wondering something. I am 35 and had a heart rate of about 160 bpm. This started right after surgery. They brought it down with beta-blockers. This never happened before.
After this I had it every month, It has not returned for about 1 year with no meds.
I did see a regular M.D, Electrophysiologist,Cardiologist
and wore a heart monitor for 30 days, did lots of EKGs etc.
Three years later it started again so I saw a Cardiologist and
used a Heart monitor for 30 days again. Did a EKG and an Echo, They both found a normal heart and valve without wolf parkinsons(this was my main concern)They assured me nothing was wrong. No heart problem.
I went to an emergency room once and a lady doctor, gave
me a drug to stop my heart and restart it, the worst experience of my life, because It actually got faster.
I pleaded with her to give me a beta blocker.
I truly believed if I had took another dose of the heart drug
denisin(not sure if that is exactly right) I wouldn’t be here.
help!
Yes your right.
I wonder if it could be
adrenal glands or something.
Possibly anxiety.
I have asked several if anxiety could
cause this?
They said no.
A review of the Polar FT-7 heartrate monitor watch. Ill show you what’s in the box, how the device works and how I feel about it after using it for a few weeks.
So I’m about 6 foot (male, 17), and I’m pretty athletic. I was on an x-training machine one day and noticed the pulse monitor, the ones I use are also fairly accurate, my heart rate was 203 bpm. Is that normal? I went to the doctors and he did a 24 hour ECG on me with a Holter monitor, I phoned up but the nurse said the doctor wants to give me the results and won’t be back from holiday until next week.
I’ve also suffered from chest tightness and chest pains, like a stabbing pain and then someone’s just put a massive weight on my chest. It also comes with some breathing difficulties and exercise intolerance (laziness!!!). Any idea what it might be, if anything?
ps. IM NOT ASKING A QUESTION ABOUT MY WEIGHT, ITS ABOUT MY HEART!, jeez cant people read nowadays
I want to by a exercise bike for my dad for his bday. I dont have much money, and the main things i want is a heart rate monitor built in if poss and it to be as quiet as possible!
