How do I stop getting itchy?

After running usually but sometimes even in an endurance workout my body gets very itchy. It usually starts when my heart rate gets around 130 and I begin to sweat. I was told it was the cotton shirt I was wearing, but even shirtless I still get itchy and have to stop. I did some research and most people relate this to poor fitness level and muscle stress, although I have been weight training for about 2 years (4 days per week) and have 6% body fat. How do I make it stop?

Heart rate?

I wear a heart monitor when I climb the stairs here. When I first started my heart rate was reaching 190. In the two weeks since I started, it has steadily decreased. Last night I added an extra 14 floors to the 28 i normally do (go up to 14, then down to 1, up to 28, then down to 1) and my heart rate barely got over 170. Is this normal as my body gets used to the exercise or is it something that I should really be worried about because my heart isnt keeping up anymore?

I wore my heart rate monitor and separate pedometer while doing a very hard 3.5 hike/trail run and the readings for calories burned are coming up drastically different. Heart monitor says 900 and pedometer says 300. I entered all the information into both – age, weight, female. Am I doing something wrong?

Help me make my introduction paragraph better?

Any suggestions on things to add, editing, or rephrasing sentences would be appreciated.

Heart rate provides information for basic physical fitness and can be an early warning sign for heart disease. Your heart rate determines how fast your heart is beating. Blood pressure is another way of determining ones physical health especially cardiovascular health. Maintaining normal blood pressure allows for a more healthier heart. Body composition is yet another way of determining ones overall health. Measuring body composition is measuring the percentage of body fat throughout the body. To much body fat can predispose one to many chronic and debilitating diseases, many of which can affect the heart. It’s important to maintain your heart as you can not live without a heart and transplants can be done but hearts aren’t something you just pick up at a convenience store.

what's the best heart rate and calorie monitor?

I did some research and wanted a heart rate monitor that would calculate calories burned but also would give me speed and distance so when I’d go for runs, and didn’t already know mileage then I’d know. I went to Dicks sporting goods and they suggested Sportline Duo 1060, although it’s great does everything I want it to do and more, it’s confusing to use and don’t know truly know if the calorie (which reads in kc) or if the heart rate is accurate. I really need and want an accurate heart rate and calories burned monitor, I mainly do spinning and running for cardio. I’ve been also suggested Timex Ironmen Road or Race Trainer. Any suggestions??

why has my polar heart rate monitor stopped.?

The watch part of the monitor continues to work but I am unable to get a heart rate reading. Someone told me I need to have the battery replaced in the chest strap – is this so. Your help appreciated.

Can you tell me if I’m out of shape?? ?

this is a heart rate question…

My max heart rate for my body size/female is 194 (or so the websites say). I purchased a hr monitor and wear it during my 60 spinning class. I believe I’ve calculated my resting hr to be around 62 but it is VERY easy to get my hr up. I have definitely gotten it up into the 190s during spinning class (it is rigorous though) but even walking into the gym, doing strength training, etc. gets it up a little too high I think. The last spinning class I took, I monitored the girl’s hr watch next to me and mine seemed to be consistently 20 beats ahead the entire class. If I were to have my hr at the bpm she had, I wouldn’t feel like I got a good workout.

I understand a way to determine whether or not you are in shape is to see how quickly your hr goes down after exercising…but are there other ways also? Am I just completely out of shape because my hr goes up very quickly?
Thanks for the responses – I’ve been taking this spinning class (which are 60 mins long) for several months now…consistently for a year, maybe taking (at most) 1 month off. The problem is that it is only 1 day a week and on average I would maybe do only one other day of cardio during the same week. So I guess taking this intense cardio class only once a week isnt really doing much?

how can i improve my cardiovascular fitness?

im 18, male, 6 foot and ive lost alot of weight over the last few years and im alot fitter than i once was

however despite me doing gym sessions 3x per week, press-ups at home and several 2 hour walks per week i still don’t seem to noticeable improve my cardiovascular fitness.

the exercise i do at the gym is obviously right because my max heart rate is 202 BPM(beats per minute) and my average heart rate is usually about 169 BPM, ranging up to around 180 towards the end.
This hasn’t really changed for months, regardless of what exercise i do.
I admit i used to find it very hard and almost throw up at some points, now i find it much easier. however its certainly not easy and gets my heart rate going considerably.

my BPM just don’t ever seem to lessen, or they do at such a slow rate that its not noticeable.

what can i do differently to improve my cardiovascular fitness?

How to increase stress levels quickly.?

Im doing an experiment for school and i am looking at the effects of different types of music as a calming effect for high stress levels.. in order to find this out i need to first increase the persons stress levels and keep them high so i know its the music calming them down not just them calming down with time. if any of you have a good idea to raise someones stress levels in a humane and effective way id love to hear them. thanks

and ps. if you also have more ways of measuring stress levels besides using a heart rate monitor and sphygmomanometer and the basic palm test and sweating test id love to hear those to..

thanks alot

My diet and fitness…..give me your advice!?

My diet consists of a lot of protein and complex carbs, very little sugar and no saturated fat. I cook with olive oil and that’s where most of my fat comes from.

Now, I’ve been monitoring my calorie loss by my heart rate monitor, and I just calculated that between March 9th and March 22nd, I’ve lost 9,023 calories.
I work out every day and the average calorie loss in one workout is about 650 calories.
My totally calorie intake is about 2000 a day. I use the LiveStrong.com food diary and calculator to figure it out.

Since I am going at it every day and losing many calories as you can see, is it really possible for me to drop significant weight from this point on?

I think I can.
But, based on my own calculations and food intake, what do you think?
Is 9,023 calorie loss a lot in that matter of time.

By the way, I don’t feel deprived whatsoever. I make sure I am never hungry and that I am comfortably full.
I also don’t eat past 6-7pm.
I drink about 64oz of water a day.
@Crazy Arab…WTF are you talking about I don’t respect my health??? I effing told you I eat about 2000 calories a day! If you can’t answer my question….then don’t answer my goddamn question…..loser..

How is pulse read in a heart rate monitor?

For example, a treadmill with a heart rate detector. The heart rate detectors, or pulse readers, on a treadmill usually has those metal handlebars where you grip it and reads your pulse. Now I am wondering, how is the pulse read? In other words, does the handlebar sense the beats? or is it something else? perhaps maybe electrical currents going throughout the body? and if it is electrical currents, what is it that detects the electrical currents (chip? name of sensor? something else?)?

I’m a 16 year old male, 5’9, and 130 lbs. I row, and I want to gain some weight to help me improve my speed on the erg and the water. To do this, I have been eating much more food than someone my size/age normally would (not alot of junk food at all). However, this doesn’t seem to be helping me gain any weight. But what I am wondering is whether or not eating so much food can affect my heart rate, or decrease my fitness level. As I eat this unusually large quantity of food, I am usually getting a decent cardio workout in every day, just not a good muscle building workout which i know is good for putting on mass.

This was my first attempt on how to replace my old FS1 Polar battery (CR2025-fr Radio Shack) on my own. I used a 1.6 m/m Precision Screwdriver to remove the screws. Then I used a small flat head about 3.8 m/m size to prey open the back corner where I took of the plate of my watch. Since I had my watch for a few years now, it was out of warranty. But ppl should be aware even if your still under warranty, you could void it even IF you attempt to remove the back cover of the watch, so beware. But for those who feel that they could do it on their own good luck and hope this video helps you:)
