To find your max heart rate (MHR) in a simplified manner use 220 – your age = MHR to find 50% of this x MHR by 0.5 to find 60% x MHR by 0.6 and so on. 60 -70% of your MHR is considered to be your fat burning zone. Please only try this if you are fit to do so if unsure consult your GP before trying.

Using a POLAR heart rate monitor, calculating calories burned for my height and weight playing light basketball. This equates to about 2000 CALORIES BURNED in a two hour period. note: 1 lb = 3500 cal Your metabolic rate depends on your weight and height, this total with the calories you burn from exercise, menus calorie intake from food (fuel) = calories burned for the day.
