Turning cycling computer into a wristwatch…ideas?
I have a cycling computer with a heart rate monitor built into it. When winter hits though, I want to take my cycling computer to the gym so I can still use the heart rate function when I’m running or whatever. Does anyone have any creative ideas about attaching the cycling computer to some sort of wristwatch or something?
Ah, thanks everyone! I guess I didn’t realize that the gym equipment would pick up my chest strap. Problem solved!

Amazon has a good heart rate monitor wristwatch for $32. Most chest bands will work with the exercise equipment like on the tread mills and stationary bikes. I have this one and it works great.

Go onto ebay, you can buy and excellent watch / heart rate monitor for $25.00. Why recreate the wheel?

Most gym machines have heart rate monitor functions built in. Bikes and elliptical machines have the sensors in the handlebars. Treadmills will pick up the signal from your current chest strap.
If your gym is cheesy enough that the machines don’t have that function (I doubt it), A regular heart rate monitor isn’t that expensive.
